ASRC Gulf States Constructors, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a full time Mechanical Engineer to support our program at Vance Air Force Base, in Enid, Oklahoma. This role is predominantly an on-site role, requiring the applicant to work full time in a small consultant-office environment, with an Architect, Civil, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural Engineer, Construction Manager, support staff and interact with the government customers.

Vance Air Force Base is like a college campus for future pilots in the Air Force. There are over 200 buildings on this campus, and each facility has an HVAC system that communicates with a central energy management and control system (EMCS). Systems routinely require upgrading and replacement through construction contracts associated with building repairs and renovations. The ASRC engineering office is an on-site office that is dedicated to the enduring mission of Vance Air Force Base. This position offers a variety-filled experience by providing a balanced mix of field investigation, collaboration with licensed mechanical technicians to solve unit problems and in-house design solutions.

Key Role:

  • Evaluate existing systems and as-built drawings to determine best design solutions to repair or replace systems
  • Design construction documents as the primary mechanical engineer.
  • Collaborate with an experienced multi-discipline team of architects and engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Work with a team of energy control technicians.
  • Serve as the installation’s Certified Energy Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited program.
  • 5+ years of experience designing Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems for common, commercial-type and industrial facilities.
  • Responsible engineer in charge for stamping plans and preparation of project specifications.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to meet government contract requirements.
  • Proficiency with computer assisted drafting software.
  • Proficiency with design computations for sizing mechanical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering Licensure in the State of Oklahoma, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Experience with REVIT CAD software (on the job training provided).
  • Understanding of energy management (on the job training provided).
  • Experience with federal government design projects (on the job training provided).
  • Experience with cost estimating (on the job training provided).
