POSITION PURPOSE: To enhance the quality of life of Enid residents and guests through the efficient operation of the City of Enid library and literacy promotion.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES- Work collaboratively with the library programming team to create, implement, and present programs and events in accordance with the library’s mission and long-term strategic plan.
- Coordinate presenters/volunteers; collect necessary paperwork and route for approval.
- Set up rooms/spaces, including moving furniture; operate basic A/V; manage registrations and attendance.
- Prepare purchase requests; track receipts; maintain grant support files as assigned.
- Draft event listings and flyers; update calendars and web entries.
- Support outreach events.
- Participate in the staffing rotation of service desks as assigned.
- Provide information and basic circulation help to patrons.
- Support digital literacy at a basic level.
- Participates in the selection and deselection of library materials in accordance with the library's collection development policy and procedure.
- Creates displays to promote library programs, events, or collections.
- Advocates for the library and its interests.
- Manages ongoing professional development, including library best practices and trends, community interests, and personal skills.
- Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. /B.S.) in a related field.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of the composition, and grammar.
Specialized: Knowledge of techniques necessary to carry out effective and timely searches in a variety of databases and platforms.
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Computer: Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record-keeping, and routine database activity, including the use of spreadsheets, record tracking applications, word processing, graphics, etc.
Communication: Knowledge of communication methods and techniques, including presenting information to a wide variety of specific audiences. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, or visual media.
Critical Thinking: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have analytical ability and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITIONFINGER DEXTERITY:
Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers.
VISUAL ABILITIES:
Normal vision, with or without corrective lenses.
PUBLIC SPEAKING:
Ability to present information clearly and effectively to both large and small groups.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
PDC Level: Medium Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally (less than 33% of the time or 1-100 times per day). Exert push/pull force of 35 lbs. Ability to ascend/descend a 14" step and work overhead to move books. Ability to ascend/descend a ladder. Ability to work with small objects, such as books. Ability for prolonged walking of the library floor.
LANGUAGE/COMPREHENSION:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to handle a variety of situations and find practical solutions that help patrons and support library operations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to create and interpret bar graphs.
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:
Part-time: Variable– 28 hours/week, typically scheduled between 8 am - 7 pm, Monday through Saturday.
Other – Variable lunch period and breaks in coordination with other personnel. As needed for special events.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Well-lighted, climate-controlled, indoor library setting with adequate ventilation.
NOISE LEVEL:
Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
OTHER WORK CONDITIONS:
None.ADVANCEMENT CRITERIAINTERMEDIATE:
5-7 years of related experience.
Ability to fill in for a supervisor for short periods.
Level IV OK Certification for Public Libraries.
Conversational second language spoken in the community.
ADVANCED:
8+ years related experience.
Master’s Degree in a related field.
Ability to fill in for a supervisor for extended periods.
Bilingual; languages spoken in the community.
Level V OK Certification of Public Libraries.
