Job Purpose

This position is responsible for planning, developing and directing recruitment processes throughout the company in accordance with company policy, Federal, State, and local laws.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Assess external labor market conditions
  • Develop the most effective, economical and appropriate recruiting channels and methods
  • Create strategies and specific objectives for the Recruiting Department
  • Develop budgets, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the Talent Office VP
  • Ensure compliance of all hiring regulations (DOT, Federal, Etc.)
  • Provide guidance and assistance to management on recruiting statistics
  • Research and benchmark recruiting variables against competitors
  • Develop evaluations, presentations, and recommendations for management teams regarding recruiting initiatives
  • Recommend and manage the development of recruitment strategies
  • Manage effective advertising campaigns using appropriate media resources
  • Plan and recommend budgets, manage expenditures and report on variances
  • Liason with Management to develop policies, programs, and procedures regarding recruiting and retention
  • Develop relationships with senior level executives to assist in defining recruiting goals and objectives
  • Ability to travel to and from the corporate office to terminal and other facility locations.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources or equivalent experience
  • Broad based experience in management or supervision
  • Knowledge of recruiting practices, and employment related federal, state, and local regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees, facilitating a team environment

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively operate computer systems to complete essential job functions.
  • Superior skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook applications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in business or human resources
  • Knowledge of DOT federal regulations

Supervisory Responsibilities

In addition to supervising recruiting personnel, he/she must exert influence in leading groups of people to achieve departmental and company objectives.
