Summary

The Data Platform Specialist will support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of a scalable, secure, and high-performance data platform. This role combines architectural vision, engineering execution, and analytical insight to ensure the platform supports enterprise-wide data needs—from ingestion and transformation to advanced analytics and machine learning. Responsibilities

Platform Architecture & Strategy:

• Design and implement the structure of data systems including databases, data lakes, and warehouses.
• Define long-term technology strategy and innovation roadmaps across data engineering, analytics, and platform capabilities.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies for data storage, processing, and analytics.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure:

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery from diverse sources (APIs, databases, external systems).
• Optimize workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability using tools like Apache Kafka, Spark, and Airflow.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance through validation, monitoring, and metadata management.

Analytics Enablement & Collaboration:

• Partner with data scientists and analysts to support model development and deployment for AI/ML use cases.
• Translate business requirements into data models and reporting structures that support decision-making.
• Enable advanced analytics through integration of tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Python-based ML libraries.

Additional Job Description

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or related field.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 6+ years in data architecture, engineering, or analytics roles with proven success in enterprise-scale data initiatives.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks), and real-time data distribution.
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, C++) and data tools (SQL, R, SAS, Excel).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and metadata systems.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques and statistical modeling (e.g., PCA, clustering, CNNs, RNNs).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and business teams.
