Education and Infection Nurse

This is a safety sensitive position. The Education and Infection Prevention Nurse is responsible for the coordination and implementation of education programs throughout the health centers. This includes the development of robust educational content for health care staff and professionals. This responsibility includes the planning, organization and execution of education/training programs as identified through needs assessment, quality improvement, and implementation of new products and technology. The individual assists in the effective operation through teamwork, customer service/satisfaction, quality assurance, adherence to legal and financial regulations, providing feedback and assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as they apply to areas of responsibility. Travel between all sites is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Oklahoma required.
- Proven history of teaching and training staff
- Experience in the medical field; clinical experience preferred
- Proven ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to varied types of learners.
- CPR Instructor Certification required (or able to obtain instructor certification).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for health center wide education which supports evidence-based practice toward achieving educational outcomes, safe and outcome focused care.
- Responsible for basic eCW training for new hires as well as continuous training throughout the year.
- Assessing individual, care team, and GSP Health needs for education to develop and plan individual and job specific training paths incorporating training software or tools
- Planning and implementing education strategies, interventions, and programs
- Works closely with the administrative team and the Clinical Lead to implement relevant and time sensitive training.
- Provide education on the infection control/health exposure plan and the organization’s infection control practices.
- Provide coordination of the surveillance and support of the center’s Infection Control Program; monthly reporting of infection control data collected from Clinical Leads to the QI/RM medical staff committee and QI board committee.
- Conduct infection prevention education and training to all staff as required by HRSA and CDC.
- Work closely with the Director of RM&QI, Manager of People Operations, and CMO for the development of action plans to address community outbreaks.
- Responsible for onboarding training for all new hires. Works closely with the Manager of People Operations to ensure smooth training for all new hires.
- Responsible for overseeing onboarding plan for all new hires.
- Responsible for completing, managing, and tracking all new employee testing and immunizations.
- Responsible for completing, managing, and tracking all employee yearly immunizations.
- Responsible for tracking renewal of CPR licensure and assists Manager of People Operations with tracking of all state and federal licensure for licensed staff members.
- Works closely with the Manager of People Operations to complete competency checklists and ensure education is completed with the credentialing process.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Manager of People Operations.
