POSITION DESCRIPTION

I. TITLE OF POSITION: Pharmacy Technician

II. NATURE OF POSITION: A Pharmacy Technician that will process and fill prescriptions. Duties will include other tasks under the direction of a pharmacist to provide excellent customer

service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly. A pharmacy technician must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. A Pharmacy Technician must possess excellent

communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers.

This is a safety sensitive job.

III. QUALIFICATIONS:

A. High school diploma or equivalent

B. Valid state pharmacy technician license

C. 2 years pharmacy experience preferred

D. Knowledge of PioneerRx software preferred

E. Strong math and computer skills for prescription processing

F. Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and strong attention to detail required.

G. Willingness to work a flexible schedule

IV. SALARY GRADE AND CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

V. RESPONSIBLE TO: Director, Pharmacy

IV. RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Engages patients with professionalism and courtesy, providing assistance with products and services.

B. Resolves issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.

C. Develops trust and rapport with patients, ensuring continuity of care.

D. Under supervision of the pharmacist, assists in all aspects of pharmacy practice consistent with state and federal law.

E. Operates Eyecon for prescription counting and verification and assists with automated dispensing through Parata Max2 and Parata PASS systems.

F. Reports any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company

policy on quality improvement and incident documentation

G. Assists with receiving, unpacking and storing pharmaceuticals while maintaining proper documentation for inventory and non-controlled dangerous substances.

H. Handles non-clinical telephone calls, including those from patients and providers, when

pharmacist intervention is not required.
