POSITION DESCRIPTION

I. TITLE OF POSITION: Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

II. NATURE OF POSITION: This is a safety sensitive position. The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator ensures accurate and timely payroll processing and administers employee benefits programs for GSP Health. This role is a hands-on HR support position that combines technical payroll duties with benefits administration, compliance, attention to detail, and excellent customer service for a diverse workforce.

III. QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

B. 2+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience.

C. Strong understanding of payroll systems, HRIS, and benefits platforms

D. Excellent analytical and numerical accuracy.

E. Outstanding communication and customer service skills.

F. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

G. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

H. Familiarity with FLSA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS payroll tax requirements.

IV. SALARY GRADE AND CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director Human Resources

V. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

A. Payroll Administration

• Process and prepare bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.

• Collect, review, and enter timecard data, pay rate changes, deductions, and absences into the payroll system.

• Work with Finance/HR to reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.

• Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.

• Ensure payroll and benefits processes comply with federal, state, and local laws.

• Support ACA reporting, COBRA notifications, and benefit compliance audits.

B. Benefits Administration

• Administer employee benefits including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement/403(b), and other voluntary plans.

• Assist employees with benefits enrollment, terminations, life event changes, and claims support.

• Coordinate open enrollment communications and materials with carriers/brokers.

• Review benefit billing and reconcile benefits deductions on payroll.

• Maintain benefits data in HRIS/payroll systems and ensure accurate reporting.

C. Other Duties

• Maintain HR/payroll documentation, reports, and secure records.

• Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
