Hedges Speech & Hearing Center is a nonprofit organization committed to providing accessible, high-quality speech and hearing services to individuals of all ages and income levels. We work to improve communication and quality of life through professional care, advocacy, and community outreach.
Position Summary
The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive of Hedges Speech & Hearing Center and is responsible for the organization's overall strategic, operational, and financial leadership. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will advance the mission, ensure financial sustainability, lead a high-performing team, and serve as the public face of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Lead the implementation of the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
- Partner with the Board to develop and execute strategic plans and policies.
- Promote a culture of equity, inclusion, excellence, and collaboration.
Operations and Program Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring program quality and efficiency.
- Supervise and support staff in alignment with best HR practices.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the finance committee.
- Monitor financial performance, ensure responsible fiscal stewardship, and report regularly to the Board.
- Oversee financial policies, controls, and risk management.
Fundraising and Development
- Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, major donor cultivation, and annual campaigns.
- Build relationships with funders, community stakeholders, and corporate partners.
- Collaborate with the Board on fundraising strategies and events.
Board Relations
- Serve as liaison to the Board, providing timely and accurate information to support decision-making.
- Assist in board recruitment, training, and evaluation.
- Ensure effective governance practices are in place.
Marketing and Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organization.
- Build relationships with community partners, donors, and media.
- Develop and oversee marketing, branding, and communication strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit or healthcare settings.
- Proven experience in fundraising, budget management, and team leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
