Sacker/Carryout

Summary/Objective: A Sacker/Carryout performs front end duties including but not limited to sacking, carrying out and general housekeeping duties.

Reports to: Store Director and Assistant Store Manager

Essential Functions: • All areas of customer satisfaction and service, including not limited to, responding to customer requests, questions and complaints. • Working and communicating successfully with all levels of customers, management and fellow employees. • Attends to all customer needs and moving from checking, sacking, and carrying out as needed as well as directing or talking to customers regarding items in question. • Assists customers with carry out if needed or requested. • Knowledge of store equipment such as scanner register, credit card machine, box knife (18 or older only), service cart and box bailer {18 or older only).

Competencies: • Good oral communication skills • Basic math skills • Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in an efficient manner • Basic knowledge of cleaning products used, MSDS requirements and lockout tag out procedures • Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed,

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Work Environment: Retail grocery store. Includes standing and little walking during a 10 hour work-shift.

Physical Demands • This position requires standing 3 hours or more each day • Walking 7 hours or more each day • Carrying product up to 10 pounds frequently, carrying product 11 to 50 pounds occasionally • Lifting product up to 10 pounds frequently, lifting product 11 to 50 pounds occasionally • Repetitive actions such as simple grasping and fine manipulation • Maintain head and neck in static position with frequent flexing and frequent rotation recommended • 10 hour work shifts required

Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent
