Summary/Objective: The Meat Cutter performs meat processing, sanitation, safety and stocking procedures on meat products as outlined by the company and directed by the Meat Market Manager. Previous Experience Preferred

Reports To: Meat Market Manager

Essential Functions: • All areas of customer satisfaction and service, including but not limited to, responding to customer requests, questions and complaints. '• Works and communicates successfully with all levels of customers, and management employees. • Abides by all state and federal regulations. • Assists with unloading trucks. • Making cutting lists. • Assist with monthly Inventories. • Conducts cutting tests as needed. • Wraps and packages meat. • Makes sure there is profit in cutting meat. • Makes sure the meat market is clean, orderly, properly stocked, priced, signed, tagged and rotated. • Verifies all meat department pricing. • Receives merchandise assuring the correct count and proper charges. • Purchases and merchandises goods for sale to customers. • Completes invoicing and time card calculations on a weekly basis. • Assists in delivering meat to customer's cars when requested.

Competencies: • Basic oral and written communication skills • Knowledge of all equipment in the meat market, including inkling, grinders, saws, tenderizers, slicers, box knives, hand knives, scales, order machines, box bailers, wrapping machines (all to be used by employees 18 years of age or older with proper training) calculators, adding machines, service carts, telephone and FM unit.

• Ability to work a variety of schedules hours per customer demands, including weekends, holidays and busy days of the month. • Leadership Skills - Creating a positive atmosphere for all employees and customers • Work in temperatures ranging from negative 15 degrees Fahrenheit to room temperature. Supervisory Responsibility


Work Environment: Retail environment. May work multiple shifts and varied shifts. This position requires working weekends and holidays. Minimum work week of 5 days or 40 hours.

Physical Demands: • This position requires long hours of standing and walking • Use of repetitive motion such as grasping and fine manipulation • Must be able to keep head and neck in static position, recommend frequent flexing and rotation exercises • Position requires frequent bending and push/pull • Requires occasional squatting, climbing, reaching above shoulder, kneeling, crouching • Work in a variety of temperatures from negative 15 degrees below zero to room temperature. • Must be able to carry and lift up to 10 pounds, may lift up to 110 pounds

Required Education and Experience: High school or equivalent
