Store Bookkeeper/Service Desk Clerk Summary/Objective: This position is responsible for store office accounting of sales and cash reconciliation as well as general office administrative duties. This includes responding to customer requests, questions and/or complaints.

Reports to: Store Director and Accounting Manager/HR Manager

Essential Functions: • Working and communication with all levels of customers, Jumbo Foods management and employees • Knows and adheres to all federal and state guidelines, regarding but not limited to WIC, SNAP benefits, tobacco sales and beer sales where applicable • Willing and able to learn basic 10-key computer skills • Complying with all FINCEN government regulations • Complying with all internal policies for Check Cashing, Money Order, Money Transfers, Band Bucks, Gift Cards and all other policies. • Balancing credit card transactions on a daily and weekly basis • Performs accounting functions related to reconciling of daily store cash and sales including cash balancing of checkers • Performs general office administrative duties including invoice processing, payroll processing, and returned checks Competencies: • Prior checker experience with Jumbo Foods • Organized and Responsible • Good oral and written communication skills • Good math skills • Independent problem solving skills • Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in an efficient manner • General knowledge of equipment such as adding machine, computer, scanner, register, credit card machines, copier, telephone, money order machines, wire transfer computer and report printer

Supervisory Responsibility None

Work Environment Retail environment. Routinely opens and closes the store. May work multiple shifts and varied shifts. This position requires working weekends and holidays. Minimum work week of 5 days or 40 hours.

Physical Demands • This position requires long hours of standing and walking • Use of repetitive motion such as grasping and fine manipulation • Must be able to keep head and neck in static position, recommend frequent flexing and rotation exercises • Position requires frequent bending and push/pull • Requires occasional squatting, climbing, reaching above shoulder, kneeling, crouching • Must be able to carry and lift up to 10 pounds, may lift up to 110 pounds

Required Education and Experience:

High school or equivalent
