Position Specific Description

Process Specialist I is responsible rapidly developing an understanding of current processes and business needs, in order to creatively and strategically re-engineer processes with out of the box thinking. Will need to incorporate lean six sigma and kaizen principles to drive operational excellence and standardizations throughout the business unit. Additionally, this position will require developing and presenting business cases/proposals to senior management.

  • Originating action to improve existing conditions and processes, identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas, and implementing solutions.
  • Ensuring that the (internal or external) customer's perspective is a driving force behind strategic priorities, business decisions, organizational processes, and individual activities
  • Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
  • Ensuring others contribute to organization strategies by focusing them on the most critical priorities, measuring progress and ensuring accountability against those metrics.
  • Maintaining stable performance under pressure or opposition (e. g. experiencing time pressure, conflict, or job ambiguity); handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization

Job Overview

Employees in this role collect and analyze process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and promotes projects that are cross-functional and specialized in nature, including regulatory issues, customer special needs issues and/or safety issues
  • Identifies and implements process improvements
  • Identifies and recommend s programs, products and services
  • Maintains indicators and reports specific processes
  • Travels frequently within service territory and occasionally attends meetings and conferences outside service territory
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 2+ years
