North Care Center is a private non-profit organization, established in July 1981, after numerous requests were made to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to offer services in northwest Oklahoma County. Dr. Edith King, clinical psychologist, served as the first Chief Executive Officer until 1986. Mark Hayes, LCSW, became the Chief Executive Officer February 17, 1986. Mr. Hayes continued as Chief Executive Officer until May 2001, when Randy Tate, LCSW became the Chief Executive Officer. North Care Center's Mission is to be the leader in providing community-based high quality, sensitive behavioral health services to individuals, families, and communities. North Care Center is certified as a Community Mental Health Center with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, is the recipient of the national CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) certification and is currently licensed by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a licensed Child Placement Agency. North Care Center currently provides services from its main office in northwest Oklahoma County, Pauls Valley, and Norman, Oklahoma. July 1, 2002, Community Counseling Center, a private non-profit organization, became a subsidiary of North Care Center. Community Counseling Center is a community-based behavioral health center certified by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and also has CARF accreditation. North Care Center / Community Counseling Center is a United Way Partner agency.
