Description

SUMMARY

Stages heat treat loads by heat treatment to be performed, loads and unloads furnaces, follows heat treat procedures provided and performs hardness test and records by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Moves incoming and outgoing product with forklift to assigned areas.

Stages loads for furnaces as stipulated by work instructions (in baskets).

Loads product (in baskets) into furnaces and removed when heat treat cycle is complete.

Programs controls on furnaces as outlined by work instructions and fills out furnace charts.

Operates laboratory equipment and take readings in tabular format.

Enter information into heat treat machines, with a touch-panel display

Sand blasts/shot blast parts.

Performs hardness testing on completed parts and records in log book.

Use a computer for data entry.

Performs routine preventive maintance on equipment.

Assists in maintance on equipment.

Performs daily housekeeping tasks.

Assists customers in shop area.

Calls vendors and makes orders.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and basic computer skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
