Coffee Shop Manager - Job Description
Position Summary:
The Coffee Shop Manager oversees the daily operations of the coffee shop, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient operations, and a welcoming environment. This role is responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory, maintaining quality standards, and driving business growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise baristas and other staff members, providing training, scheduling, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining quality service and addressing customer concerns promptly.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure adequate stock levels and cost control.
  • Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale accuracy, and daily financial reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting shop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor sales and develop strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Support marketing initiatives, community engagement, and promotional events.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders, and prepare beverages and food items to standard recipes.
  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment with skill and safety as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation, equipment, and food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Organizational skills for scheduling, training, and daily operations.
  • Financial acumen with cash handling, inventory, and cost control.
  • Adaptability, reliability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Education – Licensing – Certifications - Experience:
  • Prior experience in food service or retail management required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation and café operations is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college or hospitality training a plus).
