The old saying is true: the best offense is a good defense. This is why we have Cyber System Operations specialists. In the Air Force, they are responsible for protecting our nation’s cyberspace so the mission can stay on track while our data is protected from foreign threats. They’re also in charge of supervising any sort of system installation, facility layouts and training programs.
What you’ll do
- Plan and organize cyber-support activities
- Design and develop organizational structures, and determine equipment, training and supplies required for systems implementation and support
- Interact with customers to promote customer satisfaction
- Evaluate operational readiness of communications equipment, network devices, sensors, intrusion detection and related support equipment

REQUIREMENTS
You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense and federal law.

You must be 17–42 years of age, a U.S. citizen and obtain a qualifying ASVAB score.
High School Students may start their application as early as the end of their junior year.
Applicants who are non-graduates or non-alternate credential holders must obtain an AFQT Test score of 65 or higher on the ASVAB.
- 45 General (G) and 60 Electronics (E)

- Knowledge of information systems
- Completion of a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be at least 17, but has not reached age 42 on the date of enlistment
