UPHOLDING AIR FORCE TRADITION

Trusted to protect the standards, perfect the image and preserve the heritage of the U.S. Air Force, members of the Air Force Honor Guard are expected to serve their duties with the utmost dignity, precision and respect. These Airmen are selectively chosen to be part of this elite unit and play an integral role in ceremonies, functions and parades around the world.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct, plan, train and supervise military and civilian events, ceremonies and functions.
  • Represent the U.S. Air Force to American and foreign dignitaries at public ceremonies.
  • Perform funeral honors for Air Force active duty, retired personnel and veterans.
  • Advise on and coordinate matters pertaining to ceremonies and protocol.

REQUIREMENTS

You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense and federal law.

  • You must be 17–42 years of age, a U.S. citizen and obtain a qualifying ASVAB score.

    High School Students may start their application as early as the end of their junior year.

    Applicants who are non-graduates or non-alternate credential holders must obtain an AFQT Test score of 65 or higher on the ASVAB.

  • 24 General (G)
    • Minimum height of 66"
    • Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
    • Must be at least 17, but has not reached age 42 on the date of enlistment
