Wako is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated AP Clerk/Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable functions while also assisting in the procurement processes within the organization. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial transactions and supplier relationships. As the AP Clerk, you will handle invoice processing, data entry, and reconciliation of accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments. In your capacity as Purchasing Assistant, you will support the procurement team in sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, and maintaining inventory. This position demands a high level of accuracy and organizational skills as you will be expected to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Process and record accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices for accuracy.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of purchases, vendors, and pricing.
  • Support the purchasing process by gathering quotes and assisting with order placements.
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to purchasing activities and account balances.
  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure purchasing needs are met efficiently.
  • Prepare reports related to accounts payable and purchasing as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in accounts payable and purchasing roles or similar positions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and vendor management processes.
