Responsibilities
- Operate forging machinery and equipment to produce metal components as per specifications.
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
- Inspect finished products for defects and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
- Load and unload metal materials into and from the forging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to identify manufacturing process improvements and implement solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of production quantities, quality checks, and equipment maintenance.
- Perform routine maintenance on forging equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety guidelines put in place to protect you and your fellow workers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a forge operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and the forging process, including equipment setup and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Able to work in extreme climate conditions.
- Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs.
