The family’s banking story began with C.C. Wisdom at First National Bank in Okeene in 1916, followed by his purchase of the bank in 1925, and continued with C.W. Wisdom purchasing Alva State Bank & Trust Co. in 1958. C.W.’s daughter and grandsons now continue the family legacy. Over the years, they have added to Alva State Bank through mergers, acquisitions, and branch openings in the surrounding communities. These include Enid (1992), Burlington (1995), Kiowa, KS (2013), Freedom (2014), and the most recent merger of First National Bank in Okeene (2024).
