Yellowhouse Machinery Company
yhmc.comYellowhouse Machinery Company is the oldest John Deere construction equipment dealership west of the Mississippi; Mr. J.E. Hancock established the business in 1958 in Lubbock, Texas. At that time, there were no John Deere dealerships that were strictly construction, although there were many John Deere combination agriculture and construction dealerships. Mr. Hancock established Yellowhouse Machinery Company, John Deere’s first construction-only dealership, so that he could sell the Hancock Elevating Scrapers that he manufactured. Mr. Hancock hired Mr. Morris O. Kerr as general manager of this progressive enterprise. In 1960, Mr. Hancock sold Yellowhouse Machinery Company to Mr. Joe Thompson and Mr. Morris O. Kerr.
