Full job description

Youth and Family Services is seeking multiple Youth Shelter Associates to support our Emergency Youth Shelter. This is a direct care position working with youth experiencing crisis, homelessness, or family conflict. We have one full-time and various part-time positions available. Please note that there are no weekday dayshift openings at this time.

Youth Shelter Associate staff provide supervision, structure, and trauma-informed support to youth in a residential shelter environment. Responsibilities include youth supervision, crisis intervention, documentation, transportation, and supporting daily shelter operations. This role carries training expectations and requires strong judgment, reliability, and the ability to support youth and peers during challenging situations.

Associates work a flexible schedule that can include evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays. The position requires completion of advanced training, including crisis intervention and Medication Assisted Treatment education. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in youth services who are looking to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact in their community.

To be considered for a Youth Shelter Associate position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • All candidates must be able to successfully pass required background checks, including criminal history checks and child abuse and neglect registry screenings, as required by Oklahoma DHS licensing.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to safely operate agency vehicles when needed.
  • Employees must be willing and able to complete all required agency and licensing training. Youth and Family Services provides all required training at no cost to employees.
  • Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, overnights, holidays, and on-call coverage, depending on the role.
  • This position requires professionalism, reliability, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in high stress or crisis situations.

Pay Frequency: Bi weekly

Schedule: A flexible schedule that could include evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays, as needed, to ensure safe staffing coverage. Please note that there are no weekday dayshift openings at this time.
