Job Summary: This position manages the day-to-day function of our My Sister’s Closet program. Duties include sorting donations, maintaining the retail space, and assisting shoppers in the clothing closet.

This employee will support all policies, procedures, and programs which will assist in building and maintaining a positive environment at YWCA Enid.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to

· Assist customers by offering good customer service and answering questions professionally when they need assistance.

· Receive and acknowledge incoming donations.

· Provide safe environment by maintaining a clean and organized sorting area.

· Sort donations taking care to keep only clean, quality garments.

· Restock retail space with sorted items as needed.

· Bag excess donations and sub-quality items to be picked up by other organizations.

· Rotate seasonal items or items that have been on shelf or rack for long periods of time.

· Attend YWCA general staff meetings as scheduled (last Tuesday of each month from 3-5 pm).

· Work cooperatively with other staff and volunteers.

· Perform other duties as needed.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Language Skills - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from volunteers, clients, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability Strong analytical skills required. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Technical Ability – Ability to read and write in English.
  • Personal Skills – Ability to work, empathize with, and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work in a team. Must be organized with an ability to pay attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships. Ability to learn, concentrate, think and work well with management, co-workers, and clients.

Additional Job Requirements: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age. Retail, volunteer, or community service experience preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: This job is based in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and listen. The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, reach or feel, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position does not have the ability to remotely work (telework) and is considered non-essential.

Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time position, with a typical work schedule not to exceed 20 hours per week, unless pre-approved by the Executive Director. The specific hours and days of work are flexible during YWCA’s business hours of Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work hours may vary occasionally to accommodate the needs of YWCA Clients.

**Compensation:**Anticipated pay rate of $10.00-$12.00 per hour, based on previous experience.
