Position Summary
The Assistant Flour Miller supports the daily operation of the flour milling process to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of flour and related products. This role assists with equipment operation, grain handling, quality control, sanitation, and compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Head Miller in operating, monitoring, and adjusting milling equipment to produce flour according to quality specifications

Help receive, inspect, and properly store incoming grain

Monitor product flow, temperatures, and equipment performance, report irregularities or maintenance needs

Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation of milling equipment and work areas

Perform quality checks on grain and finished flour, including sampling and documentation
-
Follow all food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety procedures
-
Maintain accurate production and inventory records as required

Assist with loading, packaging, and shipping of finished products
-
Support troubleshooting efforts during production issues or downtime
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
-
Previous experience in grain handling, milling, food production, or manufacturing preferred
-
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn milling processes

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Basic math and recordkeeping skills
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work in elevated areas

Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and warm environments

Schedule
- Full-time shifts may vary and include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
