QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Satisfactory work experience
  • Current bronze or higher Oklahoma Director’s Credential
  • Good understanding of the DHS requirements and program policies

REPORTS TO: Childcare Director

SUPERVISES: Childcare teachers, staff, and children

RESPONSIBLITIES:

The director is accountable for day-to-day operation of the program and is responsible for:

  • Maintaining a program that meets or exceeds requirements
    • Improving quality of care
    • Implementing program development and evaluation
    • Ensuring personnel and volunteers comply with requirements
    • Supervising the conduct of personnel, volunteers, and other individuals providing services in the program
  • Appointing and informing the personnel in charge when the director is not present at the facility
  • Overseeing parent communication and family engagement
  • Present at the facility during the hours of operation at least 50% of the operating hours or 30 hours per week, whichever is less

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Completes DHS compliance review form within 1 month
  • Obtains and maintains CPR and first aid certifications within 3 months
  • 30 clock hours of professional development annually

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects.
