The Executive Director/CEO is responsible for overseeing the operations of United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma. This role includes resource development, community engagement, volunteer coordination, organizational management, and financial accountability. The Executive Director/CEO establishes the vision for “community impact” and works to achieve measurable goals through collaboration with staff, public and government entities, partner agencies, nonprofit organizations, corporate partners, private citizens, and volunteers. This individual must value networking and strive to leverage United Way’s extensive community presence, relationships, and strategic initiatives. The Executive Director/CEO reports directly to the Board of Directors of United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma. This is a full-time, exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Resource Development:
1. Lead fund-raising efforts, per United Way principles
2. Solicit major gifts
3. Oversee grant writing efforts
4. Promote high-quality donor relationships to foster a culture of giving
Community Engagement:
1. Lead collective efforts to help fulfill our mission of impacting our community by identifying, prioritizing, and facilitating the meeting of human service needs
2. Foster coordination and collaboration with agencies, employees, peers, and community leaders toward progress on collective community impact through initiatives that focus on Education, Health, and Financial Stability.
3. Effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders throughout Enid & Northwest Oklahoma
Organizational Management:
1. Work with the United Way Board of Directors to provide vision/direction and strategic planning for the organization
2. Professionally manages United Way’s day-to-day operations while maintaining leadership in the nonprofit sector
3. Direct and supervise staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, developing, and terminating personnel
4. Skillfully plans, organizes, and implements United Way’s efforts to assure progress on immediate and long-term outcomes
5. Provide staff support to the Board of Directors and Committees
Financial Accountability:
1. Ensure the financial viability of the organization, from budgeting to reporting to audit
2. Maintain accountability of financial records in partnership with the Finance Committee and Treasurer
3. Allocates United Way resources as determined by the Board of Directors. Adheres to contractual relationships with member or affiliated agencies, emphasizing considerations of efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Keep the Board of Directors informed about all financial matters

Preferred 5 years of minimum experience with United Way or in a comparable related field

Bachelor’s Degree Required; Advanced Degree Preferred

Possess good administrative skills and solid financial expertise

Can work effectively with a wide variety of volunteers
